Premier Doug Ford responded to the comments made by the new mayor of Toronto regarding the possibility of taking his government to court over their plans for the redevelopment of Ontario Place.
Chow made the comment when asked yesterday about a strategy outlined in a provincial document to expropriate city-owned lands at Ontario Place. Chow pledged to sue the province if they expropriate lands for their plans while referring to the provincial and federal governments as "reluctant partners" when it comes to funding Toronto.
"Expropriation is a blunt instrument, and we don't want to waste resources in court, but that option is available," Chow threatened. "Hopefully, we won't reach a stage where two levels of government find themselves in court."
