GO Trains will close their doors 1 minute prior to departure

Commuters should board GO Trains slightly earlier starting today, as the trains will close their doors.

Beginning Jan. 9, GO Trains will close its doors one minute before the scheduled departure time, a Metrolinx spokesperson said.

"This helps the train leave on time and get to the next stop on time," Metrolinx said.

All GO trains will be affected by the new change. However, UP Express and GO bus services will continue to operate as normal.

Metrolinx confirmed that it will closely monitor commuters' comments on what they think about the doors closing earlier.
