This Wednesday we have been under the effects of a winter storm that could leave, between today and tomorrow, accumulations of up to 30 cm of snow the some area of southern Ontario.
The National Weather Agency has issued a winter storm warning for Toronto, with a messy precipitation that will continue tonight and tomorrow, making driving on streets and highways more hazardous.
The city has already deployed its cleanup crews.
The effects of this winter storm are expected to diminish Thursday morning to a risk of patchy freezing drizzle.
Meteorologist Jill Taylor, said most of the GTA could see 20 to 30 centimeters of snow and ice pellets by early Thursday. She cautions that areas with more freezing rain, specifically the western part of the GTA, will see less snow accumulation, but will likely have more ice accumulation, and added that power outages are a possibility in areas with more ice.
Halton-Peel is under a winter storm and freezing rain warning, as Environment Canada warns of the potential for "ice accumulation of 5 to 10 millimeters." Similar weather warnings have been implemented in other parts of southern Ontario.
